Scottish trust deed budget calculator

Prepare for Scottish trust deed advice with a private monthly budget worksheet. See income minus essential costs, without submitting personal details.

1. Your monthly income

Enter take-home income in pounds. Use monthly figures throughout. Fields stay in this browser and are not sent to us.

Include all income for this budget, including benefits. An adviser separately checks which income can fund a contribution.
2. Your essential monthly costs

Use your own costs or your agreed share of household costs. Enter 0 if a category does not apply. Do not include repayments to unsecured debts in these categories.

Rent or mortgage and relevant secured commitments.
Energy, council tax, water where billed separately, phone and insurance.
Groceries, toiletries, clothing and everyday essentials.
Public transport, necessary vehicle costs and fuel.
Include disability-related and other necessary support costs.
Include monthly amounts for annual or irregular necessary costs.
3. Your unsecured debt
For example, credit cards, personal loans and overdrafts. Do not include your outstanding mortgage here.

Your private worksheet

A budget balance,
not a payment quote.

Complete the fields to see the difference between your income and the costs you enter.

We do not calculate debt write-off, approve a trust deed or perform a credit check.

No account, no email address, no tracking. Reloading or clearing the page removes the on-page calculation, though your browser may restore form values.

How to use this worksheet

Enter monthly figures consistently. For a weekly amount, multiply by 52 and divide by 12. For an annual cost, divide by 12. Include necessary irregular costs, and avoid counting the same expense in more than one category.

This worksheet is a preparation tool, not a recommendation to enter a trust deed. A licensed trustee uses a formal affordability assessment and must consider your debts, income sources, assets and Scottish eligibility.

If your income is irregular, prepare a representative average and explain the variation to the adviser. If benefits are your only income, a positive worksheet balance does not mean it can fund trust deed payments.

Read how trust deed payments are assessed and the eligibility guide. The relevant official guidance is AiB’s contribution guidance.

Your privacy

The calculation runs on your device. The website does not submit, store or transmit these figures. No fields ask for your name, address, account numbers or contact details. Your browser may retain form values through its own restoration features; use the clear button when finished. See privacy and cookies.
